With the first shots of the Sixty Ball Shootout about to be fired, three of Iceland's four club teams have added to their squads. Vesturbær have enlisted Siva Polam and Francies Xavier who will hope to make their debut appearances for the Volcano during the midweek-evening T10 games.
Hafnarfjörður have augmented their roster of refugees with Khurram Shehzad, a batsman who played three games in 2020 and has agreed to sign for the Hammers this summer, plus newcomber Kamal Muhammad.
Perhaps the most eye-catching signing, though, is Mohammad Kareem who joins Kópavogur. A capable leg-spinner and hard-hitting batsman, he adds crucial depth to the Puffins' less-than-ideal batting order, and offers them a second spin option after the captain, David Cook. He is expected to be in the team's first-choice XI with immediate effect.
Reykjavik have changed their captain for the second time this season. Prabhath Weerasooriya has now moved to the position of coach in a straight swap with Sadun Lankathilaka. Lakshitha Bimsara remains the vice-captain.
